Getting dressed should be fun. Problem is, this pleasure has become a problem, causing 10% of global CO2 emissions.
Our consumption is rampant: a Swiss person buys ~60 pieces/year. And global production has doubled in 15 years!
First victims? The “little hands”: forced labor, hellish pace and low wages, in an industry where opacity and lack of control reign.
The planet is hurt too! The misdeeds of the industry are numerous: 25% of pesticides in the world, 80% of Chinese rivers polluted, 35% of micro-plastics in the oceans... the list goes on!
So, can we continue like this for long?
How was the idea born?
Hi, I'm Benjamin, founder of Clother. Like many, I have long bought my clothes from major brands: affordable prices, choice, new products... So simple and practical!
When I understood the ecological disaster, I wanted to find more responsible brands. But it looks like an obstacle course:
Which brands are truly eco-responsible?
How to avoid greenwashing?
Where can you easily find a wide choice?
Style-wise, responsible clothing isn’t great, right?
This is where the idea for Clother was born...

Many of us are aware that we need to consume less and better. But not easy to put into practice.
At CLOTHER, we believe that consumers can change their habits if we offer them a sustainable, but also desirable, alternative.

Offering responsible clothing is not bad! But at Clother, we try to put eco-responsibility at the heart of our entire approach:
- We deliver all orders in reusable packages. Bye-bye cardboard, long live zero waste deliveries!
- We do not bombard our customers with daily incentives to consume. Our communication is reasoned, focused on presenting our brands and raising awareness.
- We organize collections of old worn clothes, to transfer them to our great brands that are experts in recycling
- We do not sell to the four corners of the world, but only in Switzerland, for a “proximity” offer.
